WHAT IS THE SIGNATURE SERIES?
The Signature Series at Town and Country Players is a new play series created in 2015. Its mission is to provide playwrights the opportunities to develop new work through readings, workshops and productions. It also serves the Town and Country Players' Community of Theatre Artists and Patrons, giving them a step by step glimpse into the process involved in new play development.
2018 Submissions
As part of its Signature Series, Town and Country Players is looking to fully stage 4 to 7 one act plays as part of our June 2019 One Act Play Festival .
- A limited period of Open Submissions will begin July 16, 2018.
- The types of plays accepted during this Open Submission Period:
- One Act Plays
- 10-30 minutes in length
- No musicals, please
- Comedies or Dramas
- There will be a cap on the number of plays submitted during this Open Submission period:
- 75 One Acts
- The Open Submission period will remain in place until the maximum number of submissions has been reached OR September 15, 2018, whichever happens first
- Playwrights can submit TWO one act plays during this Open Submission period
HOW TO SUBMIT
1. All documents must be submitted via email to the address below:

2. The subject line of each email should look as follows: SUBMISSION 2018: Play Title
3. All documents must be submitted in a PDF format
4. A playwright is allowed to submit TWO plays during this 2018 Open Submission period
5. If a playwright is submitting more than one play, please send in 2 separate emails
6. Each play submitted must have a cover page with ONLY the play's title
7. Each submission should have its pages numbered
8. A cover page with the playwright's name and contact information should be attached to the email submission
9. A bio of 100 words or less from the playwright should be attached to the email submission
10. A synopsis of 100 words or less should be attached to the email submission
11. Please be sure the playwright's name doesn't appear anywhere on the script or title page; the only place the playwright's name should appear is on the bio and the separate attached cover sheet with the aforementioned requested cover page info
Those playwrights whose work is selected for the June 2019 One Act Festival will be contacted by Town and Country Players by December 31, 2018. You will also then be introduced to the director of your piece via email.
Plays that have received prior readings or workshops can still be submitted.
We do ask that any plays with prior productions or productions planned for 2019 not be submitted at this time.
Playwrights from around the country are encouraged to submit their work.
Town and Country Players is located in Buckingham, PA, approximately 45 minutes north of Philadelphia in Bucks County, PA.
As noted, the submission window will remain open until the maximum number of submissions has been reached OR until the end of the submission window, September 15, 2018.
