Ruthless Nightingale Theatre Company seeks 20-30 minute plays for our first ever new work festival, The Nightingale Songs. The event will be held in October, and you may write about anything you wish. Submissions are due September 1st.
Playwrights may submit from anywhere in the world, but submissions must be written in English. The festival will be produced in New York City, and we are unable to provide monetary compensation for the playwright. However, Ruthless Nightingale will provide actors, directors, and all other necessary personnel, and we encourage the playwright to come hear their words!
We ask that the play you submit is truly a NEW WORK. This means that the work should not have received a full production prior to being read at Ruthless Nightingale. We will consider work that has had other readings.
We extend a special invitation to playwrights of marginalized identities to submit their work.
Ruthless Nightingale Theatre Company does not own the rights to your work. We will produce it for this one-night-only reading series, and wherever it goes next is up to you! Thank you in advance for sharing your words with us. Happy writing!
